Recovery Movement Consulting is growing, and we’re excited to announce that we are hiring a Grant Compliance & Communications Coordinator to join our expanding team.

This is a full-service independent contractor position supporting RMC clients across the country with grant writing, post-award grant management, federal and state compliance, reporting, data management, client communication, program development, and communications support.

Job Title: Grant Compliance & Communications Coordinator

Position Type: Full-Service Independent Contractor

Location: Fully Remote

Expected Workload: Approximately 24–34 hours per week

Compensation: $4,000–$5,000 per month

This is not an entry-level position.

We are specifically looking for someone who already has professional experience managing federal or state grant-funded programs and understands the responsibilities that come with compliance, reporting, deadlines, documentation, data collection, and client accountability.

Experience with federal awards is especially important. Candidates should be comfortable working with complex grant requirements and should understand that managing a funded program involves much more than writing a report at the end of the year.

The successful candidate will work across multiple clients and projects and may be responsible for duties such as:

  • Managing post-award requirements for federal and state grants.

  • Reviewing Notices of Award, scopes of work, contracts, and reporting requirements.

  • Maintaining grant calendars and tracking monthly, quarterly, annual, continuation, and final reporting deadlines.

  • Supporting SAMHSA-funded programs and related federal compliance requirements.

  • Managing GPRA-related data and federal reporting systems such as SPARS/SUPRT or successor systems.

  • Monitoring client progress toward grant goals, objectives, outputs, and outcomes.

  • Preparing and supporting federal and state grant reports.

  • Managing databases, spreadsheets, performance data, and grant documentation.

  • Identifying compliance concerns and helping clients address issues before they become larger problems.

  • Leading regular client meetings and serving as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts.

  • Supporting competitive federal and state grant applications.

  • Assisting with program development, implementation materials, presentations, outreach materials, and communications related to funded programs.

  • Using AI tools to streamline grant writing, research, reporting, communications, and administrative workflows while independently identifying and correcting errors.

We are looking for someone who understands the behavioral health and nonprofit landscape and can move comfortably between grant writing, compliance, data, client management, program implementation, and communications.

Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder services, recovery support, peer services, mental health, community-based programming, or related human-services work is strongly preferred.

The position is fully remote and is expected to average approximately 24–34 hours per week, although workload may ebb and flow depending on grant deadlines, reporting periods, funding opportunities, and client needs.

The contractor will have flexibility in determining when work is completed. However, applicants must be available during the Monday–Friday workweek for scheduled video meetings, phone calls, client communication, and team collaboration. Some assignments may require a 24–48 hour turnaround during the standard workweek.

Compensation ranges from $4,000–$5,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications, and the ability to independently manage grant writing, compliance, reporting, data, and client relationships.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position.

Applicants must submit both a current résumé and cover letter to be considered.

We are looking for someone who can step into meaningful responsibility, manage multiple projects independently, and become a trusted partner to RMC clients.

If you have experience managing federal or state grants, understand the behavioral health or nonprofit environment, and enjoy helping organizations turn funding into strong, compliant, sustainable programs, we would love to hear from you.
