Professional Background
Before founding Recovery Movement Consulting, Shannon served as a journalist for IRIN News (a United Nations humanitarian news agency) based in Sudan, and later as a press officer for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in New York City. Her work focused on covering humanitarian crises, health issues, and human rights.
In the nonprofit sector, Shannon served as Development Director for the Humane Society of Utah, where she doubled corporate sponsorship revenue within two years. Since founding RMC, she and her team have provided grant writing, marketing, and strategic growth support to 12–15 behavioral health and recovery nonprofits monthly, operating on a national scale.
