Shannon Egan’s Consulting Firm Facilitates Funding to Address Opioid Use Disorder Crisis
September 26, 2024 — Recovery Movement Consulting is proud to announce its success in securing $246,376 in grant funding for the Northern Illinois Recovery Community Organization (NIRCO) from Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP). This grant will support NIRCO’s Warm Handoff and Recovery Support Services (WARM) program, which aims to provide vital peer-led recovery support services for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder (OUD) and polysubstance use disorder (PUD) in Lake County, particularly those experiencing housing transitions.
The WARM program will collaborate with key partners such as the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Lake Behavioral Hospital, Kalimba Foundation Recovery Housing, Gateway Foundation - Lake Villa, and Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. By focusing on individuals transitioning from jail, inpatient treatment, and homelessness in Waukegan, Zion, and North Chicago, NIRCO will deliver much-needed services in communities severely impacted by the opioid crisis.
Shannon Egan, Founder and CEO of Recovery Movement Consulting, expressed her enthusiasm for helping secure this funding: “The opioid epidemic continues to devastate communities, and through partnerships like these, we can address the crisis head-on. This grant is a direct reflection of NIRCO’s commitment to providing immediate, peer-driven support to those in need. We are honored to assist in expanding NIRCO’s vital services, bringing hope and recovery to individuals and families in Lake County.”
NIRCO’s WARM program will provide a critical safety net for those in need of peer recovery support services at some of their most vulnerable moments. With the guidance of Recovery Movement Consulting and the backing of this significant grant, NIRCO is positioned to make an even greater impact in addressing the opioid crisis and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.
