RMC Clients Are Scoring Top Marks in Competitive State Grants
At Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC), we’re proud to share some recent feedback that speaks volumes—not just about the work we do, but about the power of pairing the right mission with the right support.
First, Will Work for Recovery (WWFR), a peer-run Recovery Community Organization in Minnesota, received the highest score in the state for their application to the Minnesota DHS Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPER) Grant. Here’s what we heard from Carolyn Neische, WWFR’s co-founder:
“I just spent two days in a grant conference, and Heidi stopped me when we were leaving. She said we scored the highest in the whole state!! They had an overwhelming response to the RFP. Many, many thanks!"
This wasn’t just a win—it was the top-rated proposal out of a highly competitive field of applicants.
And it’s not a one-off.
We recently received the same type of feedback from Heartlife Ministries (HLM), another RMC client, for their application to the Will County 708 Board. Their behavioral health proposal—focused on peer-led recovery support—was awarded $200,000 and also scored at the very top of the evaluation panel’s rankings.
Behavioral Health Grant Writers Who Understand the Work
As behavioral health grant writers, we know the difference between a technically sound application and one that truly connects. Our team doesn’t just write grants—we live and breathe this work. We understand what funders are looking for, how to communicate your impact clearly, and how to make your story stand out in a crowded field.
These top scores are the result of years of experience writing for peer-run organizations, recovery homes, harm reduction programs, and behavioral health initiatives across the country.
Why This Matters
For organizations like WWFR and HLM, these grants aren’t just about funding—they’re about sustainability, growth, and being able to reach more people in need. And for us at RMC, every win reinforces why we do what we do.
“I started Recovery Movement Consulting to support the recovery community—my people. This work is my legacy, and I’m proud of it. We can make a difference. And as for me... I’m just getting started.”— Shannon Egan, Founder, RMC
