At Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC), we believe that every grant—no matter the

size—has the power to create meaningful change. That’s why we’re proud to announce that Recovery Community Network (RCN) has been awarded a $7,500 grant from the Minnesota Veterans 4 Veterans Trust Fund to support its Veteran Recovery Support Program.
This funding will help RCN, a women-led, veteran-led Recovery Community Organization (RCO) based in St. Cloud, Minnesota, provide critical recovery support to 80–85 veterans and their families annually. These services address the unique challenges veterans face, such as PTSD, homelessness, and reintegration barriers, while reducing isolation and strengthening recovery networks.
Meeting Veterans Where They Are
Guided by Executive Director Katie Blue, Lt. Col. (Ret.), U.S. Army, RCN’s programs are built by veterans, for veterans. With a team of Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists (CPRS) who are also veterans, the organization ensures that lived experience drives every service they provide.
Key components of the Veteran Recovery Support Program include:
Peer Recovery Support – Veterans in recovery will receive one-on-one coaching, group support meetings, and Telephone Recovery Support (TRS) to provide guidance, accountability, and encouragement.
Veteran-Focused Services – RCN will offer transportation to essential appointments, emergency assistance, and linkages to critical resources. This program also supports participation in Veterans Drug Court, helping veterans navigate the legal system and reintegrate successfully.
Harm Reduction Initiatives – The grant will help expand life-saving harm reduction strategies, including distributing naloxone kits, fentanyl test strips, and other overdose prevention tools.
Capacity Building and Advocacy – RCN is committed to reducing stigma, strengthening recovery networks, and advocating for policies that improve access to treatment and support services for veterans.
Strengthening Veteran Recovery
RCN’s veteran-led approach ensures trust, cultural competency, and tailored support. Veterans face unique challenges in recovery, and this program breaks down barriers by providing practical, peer-driven solutions that address both immediate needs and long-term stability.
Shannon Egan, CEO of Recovery Movement Consulting, expressed her excitement for this achievement: “RCN’s Veteran Recovery Support Program is a lifeline for those who have served our country and now need support in their recovery journey. This funding, though small, will have a mighty impact—helping veterans and their families access transportation, essential resources, and a strong recovery community. We are honored to work with Katie Blue and the RCN team to secure the funding they need to continue this vital work.”
Investing in Veteran Recovery
This grant is a powerful investment in veterans who deserve support, stability, and connection. Thanks to Minnesota Veterans 4 Veterans Trust Fund, RCN can expand its impact and ensure that no veteran in need has to navigate recovery alone.
