RMC Helps Take Action Today Win Illinois ROSC Grant to Strengthen Local Recovery Supports

RMC Grant Writing Helps Take Action Today Win $172K Illinois ROSC Grant

Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC) is proud to celebrate another grant success — this time with Take Action Today, a peer-led recovery organization based in Illinois. Working closely with Chrystal A. Cantrell, Executive Director, RMC helped secure a $73,875 award for FY2026 through the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Recovery-Oriented System of Care (ROSC) grant.

Starting in October 2025, this funding will expand to a full 12-month award of $98,500 for FY2027, strengthening Take Action Today’s capacity to serve individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder in Perry Jackson County. Together, Recovery Movement Consulting and Take Action Today secured a total award of $172,375 across FY2026–FY2027 to strengthen Illinois’ peer-led recovery network.

Building Recovery Systems that Work

The Illinois ROSC grant program is designed to create sustainable, community-driven networks that promote recovery, reduce stigma, and increase access to peer support and harm reduction resources. With RMC’s expertise in SAMHSA and IDHS grant writing, Take Action Today will continue to advance its mission of empowering individuals to take charge of their recovery journey through education, outreach, and peer leadership.

RMC partnered with Chrystal A. Cantrell, CPRS, Executive Director, and her team throughout the grant process — from narrative development and data alignment to budget creation and submission. This collaborative effort highlights the power of peer-run organizations in driving real change and ensuring recovery resources are accessible to everyone who needs them.
