Recovery Movement Consulting Wins $241,193 Award for Bold North Recovery to Transform Minnesota’s Peer Recovery Workforce

Empowering Minnesota's Recovery Community

In an inspiring partnership, Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC) has won a substantial award for Bold North Recovery (BNR), securing $241,193.75 through the Opioid Epidemic Response Advisory Council (OERAC) and the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). This funding will drive the launch of BNR’s CPRS Enhanced Workforce Project, a pioneering initiative that will expand the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) workforce statewide to provide critical support to high-risk communities.

Supporting High-Risk Communities Through Workforce Development

The project is set to transform the lives of over 420 peer workers across Minnesota. Focusing on veterans, justice-involved individuals, and racially diverse communities, the initiative aims to build a peer recovery workforce equipped to address opioid use disorder (OUD) on the front lines. BNR will empower peer workers through virtual certification, recertification, continuing education, and financial incentives designed to reduce economic and transportation barriers.

Breaking Barriers with Virtual Access and Financial Support

By making peer recovery certification more accessible, Bold North Recovery is working together to eliminate traditional obstacles to workforce training. With the new funding, individuals from diverse backgrounds will have greater opportunities to pursue CPRS certification, making the peer workforce both inclusive and impactful. The project is structured to ensure that people can engage in career development from wherever they are, paving the way for a vibrant peer community that’s prepared to serve those in need.

Recognition for a Visionary Leader

RMC’s CEO and Founder, Shannon Egan, expressed her excitement for this well-deserved recognition of Randy Anderson, the driving force behind the project. Randy Anderson, RCPF, LADC, is the founder and principal of Bold North Recovery and a person in long-term recovery. He has dedicated his career to building a robust peer support workforce across Minnesota.

Shannon shared, “I couldn’t be more thrilled that Randy received this award. His dedication to building a skilled, inclusive, and impactful CPRS workforce is unmatched, and his vision has inspired countless individuals to pursue a service pathway in OUD recovery. This project marks a transformative step for Minnesota’s recovery communities, and I’m excited to see the positive change it will bring statewide.”

A New Chapter for Minnesota’s Recovery Workforce

Bold North Recovery is set to launch the project in January 2024, with Recovery Movement Consulting serving as Grant Administrator to support the substantial workload involved. The award signifies a milestone in Minnesota’s ongoing efforts to strengthen recovery resources and support an empowered, diverse workforce committed to positive change. This groundbreaking initiative promises to uplift communities across the state, creating lasting pathways for recovery and resilience.
