Celebrating a Milestone: Shannon Egan Helps Hope Town Ohio Secure $258,000 for Linkage and Navigation Services

Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC) is happy to announce an incredible success story with one of our clients, Hope Town Ohio. Through a collaborative effort, Hope Town Ohio was awarded $258,000—over $100,000 more than in previous years—to fund their innovative Linkage, Navigation & Employment Program in Portage County, Ohio. This significant achievement aligns with Ohio’s SOS 4.0 Grant and underscores the power of partnerships, passion, and a commitment to recovery.

Shannon Egan, founder of RMC and a seasoned expert in grant writing and recovery-focused initiatives, worked closely with the leadership team at Hope Town Ohio to bring their vision to life. Reflecting on the accomplishment, Egan said, “This was truly a team effort. The leadership team at Hope Town Ohio is doing groundbreaking, innovative work for recovery, and I’m honored to support their mission.”

A Program Designed for Impact

Hope Town Ohio’s Linkage, Navigation & Employment Program is designed to meet the unique challenges faced by individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD), stimulant use disorder (SUD), and co-occurring mental health conditions. Specifically targeting high-risk populations such as individuals in the criminal justice system, those experiencing homelessness, and those living below the federal poverty level, the program provides critical services to underserved rural and urban communities in Portage County.

Key Program Features:

  1. Peer Recovery Support: Peer-led recovery plans and mentorship to guide individuals through their recovery journey.

  2. Supported Employment: Hands-on job training at Hope Town Ohio’s auto clinic to build employment readiness skills.

  3. Comprehensive Services: Transportation to essential services, housing assistance, and community engagement.

  4. Cultural and Linguistic Inclusivity: Prioritizing racial and ethnic minorities, veterans, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and rural residents.

The program will serve 200 individuals annually, helping them build recovery capital, establish social connections, and develop skills for long-term recovery and employment.

Building Strong Community Partnerships

To ensure the program’s success, Hope Town Ohio has formed critical partnerships with organizations such as:

  • Portage County Jail

  • Portage County Probation

  • Portage County Health Department

  • University Hospital

  • Job and Family Services (JFS)

These partnerships guarantee a steady referral stream and comprehensive participant support, allowing the program to address the full spectrum of recovery needs.

A Statewide Mission

This funding opportunity, provided by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) through the SOS 4.0 Grant, is part of a larger statewide mission to combat the overdose crisis. By increasing access to prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services, the SOS 4.0 Grant is making strides in addressing the opioid epidemic, particularly in communities hit hardest by illicitly manufactured fentanyl and other substances.

Looking Ahead

With this significant funding, Hope Town Ohio is poised to expand its reach, deepen its impact, and continue its transformative work in recovery. RMC is proud to support organizations like Hope Town Ohio, whose dedication to recovery, innovation, and inclusivity sets the bar for others to follow.

As Shannon Egan shared, “It’s inspiring to see what can be achieved when we work together. Hope Town Ohio is leading the way in creating recovery solutions that are as innovative as they are effective.”

Congratulations to Hope Town Ohio on this remarkable achievement! We look forward to seeing the incredible work they’ll continue to do in the years ahead.
