The mission of Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC) is to empower individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders by bolstering the organizations that serve them. As a peer-led and peer-run firm, our team comprises of individuals in long-term or family recovery experiences. This means we approach our work with unparalleled passion, purpose, and a deep sense of mission—this is more than a job for us; it's our soul work.

CEO & FOUNDER
Shannon Egan
Shannon Egan, a woman in long-term recovery and a breast cancer survivor, founded Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC) out of a deep passion for helping others who, like her, have faced the challenges of addiction.
After obtaining sobriety in January 2011, Shannon has devoted her life to empowering addiction recovery organizations nationwide. She is now an expert grant writer and has secured nearly $15 million in funding for addiction recovery nonprofits nationwide, helping to drive meaningful change and expand critical recovery support services.

In addition to her work with RMC, Shannon is the author of No Tourists Allowed: Seeking Inner Peace in War-Torn Sudan. She previously worked as a freelance journalist and press officer for the United Nations in Africa and NYC.
