Hi, I'm Shannon Egan—Founder & CEO of Recovery Movement Consulting, and a woman in long-term recovery since January 4, 2011.
Before founding RMC in 2015, I built my career as a journalist, including reporting for the United Nations. I discovered that grant writing is, at its heart, storytelling—sharing the stories of people overcoming addiction, rebuilding their lives after involvement with the criminal justice system, finding hope in recovery, and creating stronger communities. I wanted to use my passion for storytelling to help bring funding to the organizations changing lives every day.
What started as my way of giving back has grown into a national, peer-led grant writing and grant administration firm dedicated exclusively to behavioral health funding.
Today, we partner with treatment providers, recovery community organizations (RCOs), family recovery organizations, prevention programs, community mental health centers, peer-run organizations, and other behavioral health nonprofits. Our expertise includes SAMHSA grant writing, grant administration, GPRA and SPARS reporting, federal grant compliance, and funding strategy.
Our mission is personal because we are the communities our clients serve. Every member of our team is either in long-term recovery or has been directly impacted by addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions, bringing both lived experience and technical expertise to every partnership.
