At Recovery Movement Consulting (RMC), we are more than just expert fundraisers—we are a peer-run, peer-led team with lived experience in addiction recovery. Our work is deeply personal, and we bring our passion and expertise to every project. Shannon Egan

Shannon Egan, a woman in long-term recovery since January 2011, founded RMC out of a deep passion for helping others who, like her, have faced the challenges of addiction and the criminal justice system.

 

After multiple arrests for driving under the influence, Shannon finally obtained sobriety in January 2011. Since then, she has devoted her life to empowering addiction recovery organizations nationwide.

 

She is now an expert grant writer and has secured nearly $15 million in funding for recovery-focused nonprofits, helping to drive meaningful change and expand critical recovery support services.​

​

In addition to her work with RMC, Shannon is the author of No Tourists Allowed: Seeking Inner Peace in War-Torn Sudan. She worked as a journalist and press officer for the United Nations while based in Africa and New York City.
